Aviation Environment Specialist

Role Purpose:
To manage aviation enviorment management systems and ensure compliance with local, federal and international regulatory requirements and performance standards based on international best practices; monitor and plan for the impact of environmental control in adjacent areas on Dubai aviation; and follow the development within environmental control in adjacent areas, and its impact on Dubai Aviation.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Aviation Environment Policy: Participate in the development of environment strategy and policy for the Dubai Aviation Sector and provide specialist advice to support the strategic planning, development and research field for the Dubai Civil Aviation.
2. Environmental Audit Program: Management and maintain DCAA’s Environmental Management Plan, containing audit procedures, details of monitoring and analyzing the status of Environment Management Systems, and historic records of audit results.
3. Environmental Management Systems: Develop and maintain a comprehensive environmental management system that addresses the wider issues of aviation environment matters.
4. Environment Awareness: Promote environmental awareness and vigilance by all aviation-related employees and oversees environment-training programs. Drafts and publish reports detailing awareness programs to support environmental stakeholder initiatives.
5. Liaison Duties: Coordinate with other regulatory authorities, agencies and government bodies to ensure that a multi-agency approach to risk identification and management is being implemented effectively.
6. Inspections, Assessments & Evaluations: Conduct surveys, audits, tests and investigations on matters relating to aviation environment. Ensure accurate data collection and information and statistics on environmental standards. Assess aviation environment to be used in international negotiations.
7. Other Duties: Performs other aviation environment job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent Environment program, service experience in ATC. Preference will be given to holders of postgraduate qualification.
Certifications:
Passed ICAO approved course in aviation environment.
Professional Experience:
At least five (5) years’ working experience in regulatory, air traffic control, airport and airline operations
At least one (1) year in professional role
