WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A AVP, CLOUD BUSINESS OPERATIONS,TECHNOLOGY GROUP?

You will be responsible for managing and administrating IT projects related to cloud infrastructure, ensuring their successful completion on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires a strong technical background in AWS cloud technologies, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams:

  • Manage and deliver IT projects related to AWS cloud infrastructure, including planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including team members, vendors, and business partners.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status updates and reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain cloud services, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, network connectivity, and application performance.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Facilitate Cross functional team working groups and prepare necessary updates to Steering / working group committees.
  • Administer and maintain oversight of key cloud contracts and upkeep project / team budgets.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS IN THIS ROLE?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Knowledge infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and DevOps tooling
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and AWS cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK stack).
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management processes.
