JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Vice President & CFO Investment Solutions & SLGI Asset Management Inc, the AVP, Investment Solutions Reporting & Controls will be accountable for financial reporting and controls for the Investment Solutions business and two of its’ key subsidiaries.
The Assistant Vice President will be a highly motivated leader who will partner across the Investment Solutions business segments as well as the SLF Canada finance community to efficiently execute on financial management of the business while delivering value added insights to Finance and Business leaders. This role will manage a team of 3 Directors and their supporting team of finance managers and analysts.

• Manage financial, regulatory and management reporting for SLGI Asset Management Inc, Sun Life Financial Trust Inc, and Investment Solutions including fund reporting for SLGI Mutual Funds and Sun GIF Segregated Funds.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals with the goal of increasing talent and providing opportunities to grow and acquire additional skill sets.
• Hold the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Sun Life Financial Trust entity, presenting quarterly financial results, plan and capital requirements to the Board, and act as key contact for the OSFI lead supervisor.
• Automate reporting processes and eliminate manual adjustments to shorten reporting cycle duration.
• Strengthen and enhance control environment around financial reporting leveraging technology and tools.
• Be a strategic partner to the business, leveraging data to provide advice, create insights and help in unlock value through optimization of business drivers.
