Description:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in business, accounting or a related discipline required
  • Previous experience in Business Banking and/or TD Securities Relationship Management, Business Development and Commercial Credit would be an asset.
  • 10 +years of specialized credit experience dealing with HNW clients and sophisticated financing requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of the Bank’s Risk Appetite, lending policies, practices and procedures. Strong knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting principles. Understanding of the impact of changing economic and market conditions on credit risk.
  • Proven ability to work with various partners and utilize relationship management skills to meet client needs and expectations. Stands up for their own convictions, even when viewed as unpopular.
  • Proven ability to align teams to a common goal and purpose by driving awareness, increasing knowledge and being seen as a subject matter expert to achieve success.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Lead strategic evolution of centre of excellence operating model to support business strategy and growth aspirations
  • Lead team focused on customized personal credit underwriting (new applications and annual reviews) capabilities
  • Partner with Private Banking National Office (PBNO) and other TD partners on product strategy to ensure we have a dynamic suite of credit products to serve the needs of HNW/UHNW clients and tools necessary to adapt and comply with the changing business and regulatory environments.
  • Develop business strategy that balances business objectives with risk management strategies. Identify gaps in product suite, policy and develop strategies to address or mitigate these weaknesses.
  • Partner with Private Bankers, PIA and PIC Advisors and liaise with Risk Management partners through the credit decision-making process.
  • Responsible for contributing to the quality and the profitable growth of the Private Banking customized credit portfolio through high quality credit solutions-related activities for clients - includes risk analysis, deal structuring, pricing, negotiation and credit presentations for highly complex deals and credit applications.
  • Manage and improve the ongoing quality and compliance of the credit portfolio including the new deal and annual review process
  • Ensure all Monitoring and Control systems are in place and adhered to based on credit risk policy and Bank operating policies and procedures.
  • Review and innovate processes, systems and procedures to improve outcomes and growth within the business.
  • Ensure staff understand and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct.
