QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales, Operations, Compliance or Operational Risk Functions.
  • 3+ years’ cross functional project experience, proven ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • 1+ year(s) experience partnering with 2nd Line on CTC requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Process Universe
  • Working knowledge of Risk Control Self Assessment principles

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The Synchrony AVP, Process Owner Support Manager is responsible for supporting the VP, CD & Sales Process Owner in identifying, documenting and monitoring risks and controls for the applicable Applications, Transactions and Incentives CD & Sales L3s. This includes developing key performance indicators, aggregating data from control owners and creating reporting to assist in identifying overall themes and trends. This role will help respond to Second and Third Line of Defense testing and audit engagements and provide oversight of preventative and detective controls related to compliance and regulatory requirements for the applicable L3 processes to ensure proper First Line of Defense oversight.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the management of multiple aspects of assigned Critical to Compliance (CTC) and Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements owned by the Client Development & Sales (CD&S) team for the applicable L3s, including, but not limited to preventative/detective controls, and Legal Requirements Ownership.
  • Complete and support required elements of the Risk Control Self-Assessment Policy and Standards (RCSA). This includes completing the Risk Assessment Questionnaire (RAQ) process in cooperation with VP, CD/Sales Issue Owner. This includes identifying and documenting a thorough inventory of all preventative and detective controls along with business testing and monitoring routines.
  • Collaborate with various Governance Issues teams to align risk/controls to CD&S owned issues for applicable L3s.
  • Monitor issue volume by applicable L3s to identify trends / themes, determine control effectiveness, serve as primary point of contact to review action plans.
  • Develop procedures for applicable L3s and supporting job aids as needed.
  • Aggregate and operationalize modifications to business processes resulting from testing and audit findings.
  • Partner with the VP, Process Owner, Second- and Third-line of Defense resources in response to requests from regulatory agencies
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as needed.
