Description:
This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.
You are a highly motivated Program Manager who can drive Delivery in alignment with the organization mandate and goals. You are strong in program & project management practice and possess both business and technical acumen. You support the team and work to achieve results within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope. You are a leader, an influencer, a team player and a collaborator.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Highly motivated Program Manager who can drive delivery in alignment with the organizations mandate and goals.
- Proven experience in program & project management practices and posses both business and technical acumen.
- 10+ years’ experience as a Program & Project Manager managing projects with large budgets, complex solutions, and over multiple years.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects within a program structure.
- Excellent leadership, communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Cloud Domain knowledge is a must.
- Ability to lead efforts to compile a business case for AWS projects, with executive summary, cost, benefits, and feasibility.
- Proficiency in JIRFA and Confluence.
- Insurance knowledge is an asset but not mandatory
Responsibilities:
YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program & Project Planning: Develop integrated project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and allocation of resources.
- Team Leadership: Lead project teams, including internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Risk Management: Guide and support the team to identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Champion strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members to improve collaboration and project success.
- Communication: Maintain clear and open communication channels with project partners, providing regular updates and reports.
- Scope Management: Work closely with the business to baseline and monitor project scope and activate change requests as needed.
- Financial Management: Produce cost models, maintain budgets and expenditures, making vital adjustments to stay within budget.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and best practices.
- Governance: Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and other artefacts.
- Critical thinking & Problem Solving: Identify and resolve project issues and obstacles to keep projects on track.
- Cloud Domain knowledge is a must
- Advise and direct cloud migration projects for legacy applications and databases to cloud systems.
- Manage Project team members for AWS environment.
- Perform IT assessment, cost reduction strategies, strategy development and system efficiency reviews.
- Direct teams for landing zone architecture, and re-platform applications to AWS.
- Lead the efforts to compile a business case for AWS project, with executive summary, cost , benefits, and feasibility.
- Initiate and manage IT rationalization projects for consolidation of data centers.
- Leverage AWS for data warehouse design, ETL operations and data mining.
- Collaborate with Architecture for performance, maintenance and security.
- Manage application transformation to cloud projects, including assessments, budgets, closings, emergency management, disaster recovery procedures for system resiliency and business continuity.
