What would you do? As a Cloud Engineer for HostedBizz, you will be a part of a diverse team that works with a wide range of virtual and logical technologies in the Cloud provider space. As a team member, you will be tasked with weekly and monthly R&D projects that involve pushing our Cloud offerings and services to the next level while staying competitive in the marketplace.
The ideal candidate will bring experience working as a systems or support engineer, diagnosing and resolving issues related to AWS infrastructure and keeping systems up to date. The primary focus is supporting our customers’ Cloud environments, keeping customers’ workloads uptimes and HostedBizz SLAs while building automation using AWS CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to enable repeatable and consistent deployments. Also, creating and maintaining documentation for deployed solutions, configurations, and procedures.
This candidate will also require excellent interpersonal skills between internal teams and our customers representing the product workload owners. Also in this role, you will be acting as Tier 2-3 support to the CloudOps team as needed outside of regular project and R&D opportunities.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW?

Technical Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience working with AWS services and infrastructure
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect and SysOps Admin are preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Experience monitoring and interpreting infrastructure and applications - logs, metrics, traces, events

  • Provide technical support to AWS customers, addressing inquiries and issues related to AWS services
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their cloud infrastructure needs and offer guidance on best practices
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot AWS service-related problems, escalating issues to higher-level support teams when necessary
  • Assist customers in the implementation, configuration, and optimization of AWS services
  • Document and track customer interactions and resolutions in a ticketing system
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AWS development and operations teams, to resolve complex technical issues
  • Stay informed about AWS service updates, new features, and industry trends
  • Configure and manage networking components such as VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security groups
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of applications with the AWS environment
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AWS architectures, processes, and procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support to customers
  • Assist as needed with customer facing events or sales activitie
