Skills and experiences

  • 2 years+ real world experience working with Azure Databricks and PySpark.
  • Mastery of SQL language (T-SQL preferred).
  • Solid Python programming and Azure experience.
  • Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flows.Fluent Finnish (at least B2 level) and English, both verbal and written.

  • Relevant associate level Azure data engineering or date science certificate.
  • Agile delivery experience and capability to take data security into account in practice.
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure analytics and data science components such as PaaS SQL databases, Stream Analytics, IoT Hub and CosmosDB.
  • Experience preparing data for Data Science and Machine Learning as well as AI experience.
  • DevOps experience using e.g., Azure CLI, YAML and Bicep.

What you’ll do
As an Azure Databricks Engineer at Avanade, you will use comprehensive modern data engineering techniques and methods to support business decisions for Avanade’s clients. You can collect, aggregate, analyze, and process structured/unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources to make the data available to decision-makers. Your goal is to support the use of data-driven insights to help our clients achieve business outcomes and objectives. In this role, you will collect, aggregate, store, and reconcile data in support of client business decisions.
You will help design and build data pipelines, and data streams to support reporting tools, information dashboards, data service APIs, data generators, and other end-user information portals and insight tools. You will be a critical part of the data supply chain, ensuring that stakeholders can access and manipulate data for routine and ad hoc analysis using their modern data platform.
