• The Government Services Integration Cluster is looking for a senior Devops/cloud engineer for a large scale , custom built, cloud system moving to operations with major releases and implementations over he next few years. This role will provide hand on cloud design, build, administration and optimization for multiple development teams sharing infrastructure and code. The role will provide infrastructure expertise on projects which will help clients achieve efficiencies in delivery of programs/services, expedite business processes and achieve business goals/objectives. The resource will support development teams in analysing cloud environment requirements, architecting, designing,implementing, automating and deploying enterprise solutions that conform to standards. They will build, administer and optimise CICD pipelines, branching and release strategies, infrastructure and work with multiple teams including release management and operations to build sustainable models.
• They will identify re-use opportunities, lead development of reusable services/components and ensure that they are effectively implemented. To investigate and assess new technologies and tools and to develop DevOps guidelines/best practices in a areas of design, build and support.
• The role will also provide leadership and guidance on product teams and ensure compliance to cloud architecture, security and infrastructure stability in an Agile and DevOps environment. To mentor less experienced staff in new technologies, build tools, automation, scripting, databases, container-based virtualization tech, processes and handling production issues. This role will investigate technical problems, provide recommendations to management and lead solution implementations.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 30%

You are a seasoned expert in Azure among other cloud platforms.
You have experience in production environments such as Kubernetes (AKS).
You are familiar with container-based virtualization technology.
Experience with microservice based architectures
You have knowledge of DevOps tools and techniques, and in-depth technical knowledge of system architectures,including technical, data, application and network architectures.
You have experience implementing software engineering practices for full software development life cycles (SDLC),including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, and testing.
You have experience working independently with high-level direction to build and maintain complex Linux cloud environments, like CentOS, Ubuntu or CoreOS, to support modern web technologies.
You have extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in open source search and analytics engines likeElasticsearch (Setup, configuration, watcher, and alerts).
You have fluency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, C#, Java, React, JavaScript, Node, and others.
You have experience in build tools like Git, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, and others for continuous integration.
You have integration experience using and building APIs.
You have worked with relational and non-relational databases like MySQL, MongoDB, and others.Standards and Best Practices Skills: 25%
You have experience applying industry cloud and security standards and best practices to your work that can beadopted by others.
You have designed, implemented and maintained DevOps continuous delivery pipelines to manage from build todeployment and cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as code practices.
You have knowledge of common authentication technologies, security controls, and standard application security tools.
You have experience securing environments using offensive and defensive approaches.
You have shared best practices and tools with your peers across the organization.
You can research industry best practices to support DevOps standards, and apply them to your work.Communication and Collaboration Skills: 15%
