JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for implementation and support of our Azure cloud platform. Main responsibilities include solution architecture on Azure platform, build and manage Azure cloud platform, systems administration, and PaaS/SaaS application management with an understanding of database technologies. Collaboration with our corporate cloud engineering team as required for new projects and other cloud support tasks.
North American Life and Health (NALH) is the reinsurance business unit under GE Aerospace’s Corporate Holdings; primarily focused on Long Term Care (LTC) and Life reinsurance segments. The NALH Investment organization manages a diverse asset portfolio of ~$45B to support reinsurance obligations.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 10+ years of experience in information technology.
Responsibilities:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hands on experience in architecting Azure Landing Zones to enable application migration, modernization, and innovation at enterprise-scale in Azure with all platform resources that are required to support the application portfolio.
- Implement, manage, monitor, and maintain identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment, plus provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources, when needed.
- Leading large-scale initiatives emphasizing the strategy, design and development of Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Software-as-a-Service cloud platforms that extend to private and public cloud deployment models.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services including Azure App Service, Azure API Management, Azure AD, Azure Key Vault and Azure DNS, experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and ARM.
- Design and implementation of key technologies in our Azure landscape such as Azure VM, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Files, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data lake store. Azure AD setup and design, SQL MI and PaaS setup, sizing, monitor, data migration.
- In-depth experience in Azure subscription VNET management model and framework, design, and setup of Azure Modern Data Warehouse components such as Synapse, Azure data lake, and Power BI.
- Large scale design, implementation, and operations of OLTP, OLAP, DW and NoSQL data storage technologies such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure SQL DW, Azure Data Lake Store, MySQL, Oracle Enterprise Databases.
- Strong solution design experience using Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Data Lake Analytics, HDInsight, HDP, Spark, Databricks, design and configuration of data movement, streaming and transformation (ETL) technologies such as Azure Data Factory, HDF etc..
- Leveraging knowledge related to Cloud Management Platforms, Virtualization Strategies, Automation and Orchestration Strategies, Public Cloud Platforms, Cloud Capacity/Performance Optimization, and Application Migrations to a Cloud Platform with a clear understanding of how an IT organization capitalizes upon technology to enable the business.
