The Database Administrator (DBA), also known as the Database Engineer, plays an essential role in the management, maintenance and security of database management systems.

1. Database design :

• Work with the information system architect to establish database standards and good practices.
• Make database implementation decisions according to project specifications.
• Define the optimal settings for databases.
• Model the base and design tables and keys.

1. Administration and maintenance of databases :

• Create databases and implement them on physical media.
• Size servers for optimal performance.
• Ensuring data availability and quality by optimizing performance and functionality.
• Manage access permissions for users and ensure data security.
• Perform version migrations and update programs.
• Recommend back-ups to ensure data integrity
