QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Backend Automation Engineer/Data Engineer or similar role
- Experience managing the collection, annotation, maintenance, etc of training/test data
- Experience developing automated pipelines for data collection/preprocessing/testing
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Experience working with binary data
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Essential:
- Experience and proficiency with Python
- Experience and proficiency with SQL
- Desirable:
- Experience with Linux
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and model training (MLOps)
- RF knowledge
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The company is seeking a Backend Automation Engineer/Data Engineer with relevant experience to join the development team in Sydney. The role is primarily focused on the development of DroneShield’s RFAI projects. It represents an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual in a new niche but exploding market.
RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- Be the source of knowledge for best practices with respect to data formatting, storage and quality control
- Manage the verification, annotation and storage of collected data
- Utilise Python skills for complex data manipulation/normalisation and pipeline development
- Produce scripts / notebooks to assist researchers with inspecting and visualising data
- Develop tools to monitor and analyse performance metrics, driving optimisation and improvement of product development
- Work closely with DroneShield’s data collection partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that support business objectives
