OUR STACK:

BE – Java Spring/Spring Boot microservices, MySQL DB / RDS, Dynamo DB, Elastic Search, Docker, Redshift (Warehouse), Quicksight (BI tools), Data/ETL (Talend)
Testing – Ruby Unit tests, Integration and BDD functional tests.
Apps – React Native Apps (iOS and Android) integrating with internal REST APIs and 3rd party SDKs (e.g. Firebase, branch.io, Cloudflare, AWS etc)
Web – Node, React, Express, Remix, Tailwind CSS, Storybook, Cloudflare workers integrating with internal REST APIs and 3rd party SDKs (e.g. Elastic Search)
Infra – AWS based, with services running in Docker containers using AWS Fargate, RDS (MySQL) DB, aws cli used for code promotions

THE ROLE

Our multiple Backend microservices holds all the necessary business logic for our business to function. We give a big emphasis in providing stable, consistent, and highly available services which provides a reliable experience to both our Homeowners and Trades businesses alike. This is achieved with Java Spring/Spring Boot microservices. We also run some API services in NodeJS. This role is one of the closest development roles to data systems, and we support a lot of data flows, Message Queues, ETL processes and synching between multiple systems, both ours and SaaS products including Salesforce and Zuora.
You will be a part of a dynamic Agile team working closely with Data, Salesforce and other Client Side (Web and App) Developers, Product Owners, Designers and Delivery where you will showcase your collaborative skills, as you contribute to standard SCRUM/KanBan ceremonies while producing quality deliverables in a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment.
This role reports currently to the CTO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create user facing solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces across multiple Spring/Spring Boot microservices.
• Be a hands-on leader making our product the best that it can be.
• Be part of or lead, the solution design, and architectural discussions.
• Motivate the team to do their best work and produce high quality deliverables while respecting the solution design, required tech and the dev standards set by the team.
• Create new functionality as well as troubleshoot development and production problems using application monitoring tools to assist you.
• Advocating thorough unit and BDD functional testing through a test-driven development (TDD) approach in the team.
