Core Infrastructure’s goal is to provide world-class cloud-native infrastructure to Spotify’s engineers. Our mission is to build a scalable storage platform that enables our engineers to focus more on creating valuable features for Spotify’s listeners and creators and less on storage technologies. You will engage with peers and internal customers to understand workloads and provide a great user experience for engineers interacting with our database layer. Our goal is to make our persistent database layer scalable, resilient and secure to a point that operational responsibility is a very small burden on users.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the future of Storage by moving up the Stack: Work towards making Spotify’s persistent storage layer more user-friendly, simple and automated
  • Engage with Peers and Customers: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand engineering needs and optimize database interactions
  • Focus on User Experience: Ensure that operational responsibilities regarding databases are minimized for Spotify engineers
  • Generate Insights from data: Use data analytics to improve system performance and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement

Who You Are

  • You are proficient in Java, with additional skills in Kubernetes, Terraform. Experience with programming languages such as Python, Scala, Go, or TypeScript would be a bonus!
  • You bring a background in DevOps and database technologies, with experience in cloud-native architectures
  • You have an understanding of various storage technologies across platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure, including specific knowledge of storage optimization in K/V store and cost management
  • You are a good communicator and an empathetic, attentive listener with the capability to anticipate the needs of partners
  • You are eager to learn new technologies and to expand your area of expertise

Where You’ll Be
