Description:

Poppy Unit are looking for an NMC Registered Nurse Associate to join them to enhance their Multi Disciplinary Team.
Poppy Unit is a 20 bedded mixed gender acute inpatient ward nestled in the heart of Wiltshire. We provide care for individuals with a range of acute mental health needs, supporting them through their recovery journey.
To provide skilled, person-centred nursing care to people experiencing mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities, and to deliver planned care and treatment interventions. To work alongside other registered healthcare professionals to provide recovery- and solution-focused care which:
Prioritises service-users’ and carers’ needs and preferences, and their respect, privacy and dignity.
Prioritises patient safety, and functions in accordance with local and national safeguarding, risk management and suicide prevention processes.
Promotes and develops personal strengths, enabling and empowering people and their families to manage their health conditions in as autonomous non-restrictive a way as possible.
Recognises recovery as a holistic process, encompassing individuals’ physical, psychological, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
Aligns to the six platforms of the NMC Standards of Proficiency for Nursing Associates .
To work under the indirect supervision of Registered Mental Health Nurses and to contribute to the ongoing assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of mental health / learning disabilities nursing care interventions.

9. Support people with health and wellbeing needs to engage with their own health care, in accordance with their care plan.
10. Act to protect individuals from abuse and harm in line with local and National policies and procedures (e.g. Safeguarding, Risk Management, Suicide Prevention).
11. Work proactively with carers and families, identifying carers’ needs and signposting to appropriate services or agencies.
12. Proactively develop your knowledge and practice, making use of both clinical and management supervision and available learning opportunities.
13. Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace
