Description:

  1. Support L&D Team Leaders, co-ordinators and trainers to enable them to make the best possible use of technology to support learninga. Learning technologies, including the use of mobile technology, are developing fast, and the postholder will need to be enthusiastic and active in developing their skills and knowledge in the field. This will involve formal learning, informal networking and personal research to ensure a thorough understanding of the issues.b.
    You will work alongside L&D Team Leaders, Co-ordinators and associate trainers to ensure that all those delivering training are competent and confident in the use of IT to support learning. This will include supporting trainers to develop their skills in the use of online training, enhancing PowerPoint presentations through the use of embedded video or web based material, introducing new interactive feedback tools, developing and using online training delivery systems eg Microsoft Teams, exploring the potential of developing mobile technologies, etc.c. You will offer group and individual teaching and support to all trainers,including clinical associates and those with lived experience. This will involve both formal and informal teaching and support, as well as on occasion co-working with trainers to enable them to develop their confidence.2.
    Contributing to the development of technology based learning programmesa. There is increasing demand for short, fairly simple elearning packages to be developed to meet particular learning needs within the organisation.b. You will develop your skills, for example in the use of Storyline or other software packages, to enable you to produce short learning modules in partnership with subject specialists, as required.c. This will involve contributing to the identification of learning needs and key messages, and helping to identify the most appropriate learning methodologies in each circumstance.3.
    Co-ordination and delivery of face to face training as appropriatea. There will still remain a need for face to face training as necessary, although it is likely that this work will decrease over time, as better use is made of developing learning technologies.b. Working closely with subject or system experts, the postholder will contribute to the identification of learning needs and most appropriate teaching methods.c. The postholder will co-ordinate and deliver face to face/online training as needed, or will liaise with external training providers to ensure delivery of training as appropriate, managing programmes of training and development within previously agreed budgetary parameters.d.
    The target group will include staff needing to use a range of different ITapplications, helping them to develop their confidence in the use of computer hardware, the Windows operating system, and applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Internet as well as bespoke systems, and will inevitably include a range of needs, from people who have no IT knowledge at all, through to more confident users.e. Learning solutions will include the development of text based user guides, online resources, face to face teaching with staff, both individually and in groups, as well as enabling staff to access appropriate learning technologies.f. The postholder will monitor, evaluate and review the quality and effectiveness of training delivered, ensuring that all programmes are reviewed on an annual basis.4. Contribute towards ensuring best possible use of all aspects of the Learning Management System.a.
    The Learning Technologies team will work alongside colleagues in the L&D Support team to ensure the best possible use of the LMS, includingcontributing to the production of reports of training activity in a range of formats as and when requiredb. Using your skills and understanding of IT systems, and developing yourunderstanding of the capabilities of the LMS, you will work alongsidecolleagues in the L&D Support team to help them develop their skills andconfidence in the use of the system
