Description:

Join our award-winning mental health service and be at the forefront of mental health care!
We are recruiting ambitious nurses, social workers and OT’s to complete a unique development programme to become a Senior Practitioner in our pioneering Mental Health Integrated Access Partnership (IAP), a collaboration between South Western Ambulance Service, AWP, BrisDoc Healthcare and other key partners.
You will join an innovative team that provides urgent care to those experiencing mental health crises. We operate across 999, 111 and urgent community services to offer urgent and emergency mental health support 24/7. Through telephone, video or face-to-face appointments, you’ll carry out specialist assessments to ensure patients get the right care when they need it most.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to progress and expand your skills. You’ll start on a band 6 contract by undertaking mental health triage and risk assessments, coordinating with emergency services and developing management plans to support positive outcomes for complex patients.
Upon completion of the 6-12 month development programme, you will transition to a band 7 contract. As well as supervision and lead role responsibilities, you’ll be actively using your expertise to enhance our care model by analysing service delivery, identifying and implementing improvements and supporting our integrated, multi-agency approach.
For more information about the IAP, please visit our website: https://bit.ly/_IAP
This development opportunity will include a individualised competency framework supporting you to ensure that successful applicants have the necessary skill and experience to undertake the role of a Senior Band 7 Practitioner.
Successful practitioners will undertake a range of shifts across the 24/7 operating model, that will include night, weekend and bank holiday working.

PROGRAMME OF WORK WILL INCLUDE:

Designated senior supervisor/mentor for the duration of the programme.
Relevant additional training courses as per development need.
Progression to Band 7 upon completion of competencies within 6-12 months.
Focus on complex, remote and face to face triage, assessment and clinical interventions.
Exposure to all workstreams within the IAP.
Working within a national award winning, innovative service.
We are AWP (Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust) a diverse organisation with over 5,000 dedicated staff providing inpatient and community-based mental health care.
We provide services from a range of locations to approximately 1.8 million people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, across the county of Wiltshire and in parts of Dorset.
Our outstanding people promote mental health and wellbeing. The expertise and resources within AWP are dedicated to a person-centred approach for those who use our services and for all employees. We recognise that happy and fulfilled employees give better care.

We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
