Are you looking for a rewarding role improving the wellbeing of older adults with mental health difficulties?
Then we want to hear from you!
The Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City are looking for an OT who can provide compassionate and effective care for older adults within our services. This role will include working with MDTs within the community and inpatient MHSOP services to provide OT service where there is an identified need for OT.
MHSOP services support people over the age of 65 with a mental health diagnosis, and those of any age with a diagnosis of dementia.
“Starting in MHSOP presented me with a huge learning curve and the support of my OT colleagues as well as the wider MHSOP team has been invaluable to me. The saying “no question is a stupid question” springs to mind. MHSOP care about their staff and their patients and I am really glad I joined the team.”
The MHSOP service wide OT role includes working within teams to provide occupational therapy cover across the care unit. The post holder will have the opportunity to gain a variety of experience in different areas of MHSOP including community mental health teams, inpatient mental health services, memory services and dementia outreach. To carry out specialist occupational therapy assessment, goal setting, implementation of treatment programs and evaluation.
To establish the needs of individuals referred to the service and plan care with colleagues from health, social services, families, and the voluntary sector.
To represent and promote the specialist role of Occupational Therapy.
