Description:

Are you an OT who wants to do something different within an acute trust?
We are looking for the right OT with the energy to be part of our team of Band 6 Occupational Therapists in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT). These are nine-monthly rotational posts, with opportunities to work across our Winchester (RHCH), Basingstoke (BNHH) and Andover (AWMH) sites in clinical areas including:
Inpatient rehabilitation – Kingfisher ward, AWMH
Medicine – RHCH & BNHH
Coronary Care, Oncology & Gynaecology – BNHH
Surgery – RHCH & BNHH
Long Term Conditions and Elderly Care – RHCH & BNHH
Front door (Emergency Department & Acute Assessment Unit) – RHCH & BNHH
In addition to the above we are excited to be trialling a Therapy Supported Discharge Scheme and see our Occupational Therapists as vital to this service, ensuring patients can be discharged in a timely manner but still receive the assessments and treatment plans they need.
The job involves supporting the Band 7 in caseload management, leadership, and meetings, and having direct line management responsibility for junior staff with vast opportunities for own professional learning and supporting others to learn.
This is a great chance to work in a forward thinking, patient focussed service and to be part of the exciting opportunities that this offers.
For more information, or if you have any questions, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
We would welcome both full time and part time applicants and are committed to developing a flexible workforce to meet the needs of our patients.
Further information about the Trust and this role can be found on the Job Description and Person Specification document attached.
Successful applicant is expected to be able to drive hospital manual car for community access visit unless medically exempt.
We encourage informal visit in the hospital and meet the team
