A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified nurse to join the Patient flow team as a Bed Manager. This is a great chance for a dynamic nurse to gain some valuable management experience to add to their résumé.
A proficient healthcare professional who is part of the team responsible for the effective utilisation of beds within Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust. An experienced practitioner with decision making autonomy, responsibility and accountability. The practitioner works collaboratively with others to ensure the smooth running of admissions, discharges and transfers within the Trust and other health care organisations.
The Bed Management team is responsible for the safe and effective flow of patients throughout the hospital, by placing patients in the most appropriate setting for their care needs. The ideal candidate would be expected to have at least 2 years post-qualifying experience, excellent communication and numerical skills, and be able to demonstrate professionalism and resilience in an often-demanding role. The role offers the candidate the opportunity to extend their knowledge of the trust from a wider perspective and gain experience in daily operational activities and communicating with senior management colleagues.

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its ‘Be Safe Be EquiPPEd’ campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE. The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.
