Description:
To provide sound clinical leadership and develop support mechanisms for sharing good practice within the theatre/department and Trust wide. Maintain and promote effective communication with team and all members of the multi-disciplinary team and other departments. Communication will take place using formal and informal methods, including formal presentation of information relating to your Theatre/department. Using specialised knowledge ensure the clinical needs of patients are met.
Communicates with patients, carers and the wider multi-disciplinary team and in so doing, acknowledges / accommodates barriers to communication and understanding including speech, hearing, language and emotion. To be able to scrub/supervise for gynaecology and breast surgical procedures Develop the quality of the service and co-ordinate clinical services across the department. Monitor the quality of care and action audit information to achieve agreed standards and take the lead on customer care initiatives. Support the team manager to investigate complaints, incident reports and untoward incidents in line with clinical governance To be actively involved in the development of Trust policies and procedures in theatres.
Plan and lead projects relating to local policy, quality improvement development. To manage the efficient and effective use of supplies, provisions and equipment of the ward/department within the designated budgets. This includes management of the temporary staff and environmental budget. To recruit and retain staff within the budgeted establishment
