The post involves the provision of time-limited psychological interventions within a stepped care model. The main emphasis for the role will be delivering a range of intensities of psychological interventions to enable service users to progress in their recovery. The interventions that are core to the role and development are CBT and DBT skills, as well as familiarity with motivational interviewing. The service is developing its adversity and trauma informed practice and, as such, experience and/or interest in delivering trauma focused psychological therapies such as CFT would be advantageous. We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Clinical/Counselling/ Forensic Psychologist to deliver evidence based specialist psychological therapies and to provide supervisory support and consultation to staff co-delivering interventions within the ROADS drug and alcohol treatment system, promoting and embedding an adversity and trauma informed approach.
The role involves assisting with the delivery of 1:1 and group psychological interventions to service users, under the supervision of the lead psychologist. The role will also involve supporting the teaching and training of other professionals on psychological theory, research and its application to clinical practice, carrying out audits and service evaluations as required and working collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be based at Campbell House however he/she may within reason be required to work at or from any of the treatment systems other locations within central Bristol as may be determined from time to time.
