Description:

An exciting job opportunity has arisen to recruit a dynamic and independent Mental Health Clinician to join our newly commissioned Counter Terrorism Consultancy Service.
This is a partnership between Counter Terrorism Policing and the NHS. The team work with counter-terrorism officers in assessing and managing the risks and needs of individuals with complex mental health difficulties based on their enhanced working knowledge of NHS and third sector services and experience of navigating care pathways.
You will be a source of knowledge and expertise, providing to Counter Terrorism Police in their day to day management of cases with acute psychological and mental health problems. Liaising with external services, from health to social care and will be a key part of the role to ensure safe management and risk assessment of people with complex mental health needs referred to the Counter Terrorism Police.

You will work alongside a team of very experienced Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical & Forensic Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists (Forensic Mental Health Nurses) and embedded Police within a supportive MDT.
The post holder will be part of a team of NHS & Counter Terrorism Police staff who work within the Government CONTEST strategy and provide high quality liaison, assessment and management plans to the referring agencies. The post holder will be responsible for gathering information on referrals, participating in MDT triage, risk assessment and formulation and agreeing an onward pathway and liaising with stakeholders.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of information governance and Trust and NMC values are adhered to at all times.
This is a specialist workplace setting being co-located at all times within policing units and we have a good team working ethic.
The Team work within a hybrid model. You will be required to travel to Counter Terrorism Policing sites across the West Midlands Police, East Midlands Police, Staffordshire Police, West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police, Wales Police and National Counter Terrorism Policing Unit.
The team work across the locality of West Midlands, East Midlands and Wales and are expected to travel regionally or nationally according to the needs of the CCS. This can include overnight stays.
Due to the strong commitment to evidence-based practice throughout the Trust, and within the team, CPD is supported and staff are encouraged to be involved in audit, research and service development and to attend and present at national conferences/meetings/training events where appropriate.
