Description:
Do you want to work in an organisation that values you as an individual, in a team that provides multi-disciplinary support, encourages your development, and values your contribution? If so, come and join our fantastic team. An amazing opportunity has arisen for a band 7 midwife to work alongside our current band 7 at The Birth Centre, QA Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and passionate leader to support our co-located birth centre.
The successful candidate will provide strong professional, clinical and managerial leadership to the unit and will act as a professional role model. Excellent communication skills are essential to support and empower birthing people throughout their journey, as well as liaising effectively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and best practice. The successful candidate will need to be a highly skilled clinical expert with specialised knowledge in caring for birthing people and their families and will help to develop a research culture within the midwifery team to identify current knowledge and deliver evidence-based care. Through effective leadership you will ensure a safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led service where compassion is embedded, whilst promoting good working relationships and motivating staff through example.
Shifts will be 8-hour days and will cover weekends. Here at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, we are proud to be able to facilitate an average of 5500 births per year. As a Trust, we are lucky to have standalone birth centres, co-located units, and home birth options. Portsmouth Maternity Service has recently been rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC and it is a really exciting time to join us as we move forward with our future visions.
