The service conducts a large number of new assessments and consultations each year and has close links with professionals working within the community teams and with the local GPs. The service works closely with the community based teams providing consultations, supervision, case based discussions and case management. It also plays a pivotal role in the mandatory training of psychiatry trainees (advanced and core) and medical students and offers placements to trainees from non-NHS psychotherapy training organisations.
The ideal candidate will be expected to have extensive experience, and relevant training, in brief and long term relational psychotherapy, experience of working in the NHS and within mental health services, experience of offering clinical and management supervision and experience of contributing to service development.
The post-holder will offer specialist assessments and consultations to service users with complex needs, hold a small caseload and will offer management supervision to other CPI staff, clinical supervision to other CPI staff, psychiatry trainees, therapists working under clinical license and members of the community teams.
It is also expected that the post-holder will liaise with the local teams and will offer specialist advice on identifying appropriate care pathways. Additionally, it is expected that the post- holder will have a lead role in the development of the provision of relational psychotherapy within CPI.
The post-holder will be working with the Central and East Bristol Assessment and Recovery Team. We would like the post holder to make a particular contribution to the workstream that covers the inner city. The ability to consider issues of diversity, accessibility and equality of access are priorities for any successful applicant. The Central and East Bristol Assessment and Recovery Team covers a vibrant diverse community and applicants will need to consider ways to promote a service that is accessible to all.
