Description:
The Sheraton Athlone Hotel, part of the Hodson Bay Group, is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic Bar Kitchen team.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a busy kitchen environment.
- Minimum of 1 year experience at Commis Chef level.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while using your initiative.
- Proficiency in English.
- Capacity to handle high-pressure situations and busy periods.
- Flexibility, innovation, and adaptability.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation of food items according to menu specifications.
- Be aware of daily business needs and be prepared accordingly.
- Familiarise yourself with the menu and daily specials.
- Ensure all dishes meet agreed standards.
- Minimise wastage and follow portion control guidelines to act in a cost-effective and responsible manner.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene practices from storage through to preparation and service.
- Adhere to HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance issues to your supervisor.
- Support team members to consistently exceed guest expectations by producing quality food.
- Demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive attitude.
