Description:

The Coombe Hospital, Dublin is a voluntary teaching hospital with national, regional and area responsibilities for ensuring the optimal health of mothers, women and infants (approx. 8,000 per year births). The Hospital is a national tertiary referral centre for specialised services including maternal and fetal medicine, neonatology, gynaecology and anaesthesia.

BASIC OR SENIOR GRADE PHARMACIST (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND SUITABILITY)

Full-time, Temporary contract
The Pharmacy Department are seeking applications from suitability qualified pharmacists who wish to join our progressive, dynamic department, and become a key member of the professional, multi-disciplinary health care team and have an active role in contributing to our tradition of providing excellence in the care of women and infants.
In joining our experienced Pharmacy department, you will become a key member of the professional, multidisciplinary healthcare team and have an active role in contributing to our tradition of caring and providing “Excellence in the Care of Women and Babies”.
The successful applicant will gain invaluable experience of specialised therapeutics in pregnancy, lactation, gynaecology and paediatrics. Experience while desirable is not essential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of a Clinical Pharmacy service
  • Drug information
  • In-patient and out-patient dispensing
  • The extemporaneous and aseptic preparation of drugs for the Neonatal ICU

and Special Care Baby Unit.

  • Medicine reconciliation

This post is suitable for Hospital Pharmacists wishing to broaden their experience or Pharmacists working in other areas who want to gain hospital experience.
There will be potential for further education and participation in multidisciplinary research for the successful applicant.
Remuneration is in accordance with the salary scale approved by the Department of Health & Children effective from 1 st October 2023. Current remuneration as follows:
