Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role oversees the operation of a YMCA branch, including Living our Cause, program & membership growth, property management, staff and volunteer development, fundraising, community relations, and collaborations/partnerships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred
- Experience with the budgetary responsibility of $500,000 or higher, preferred
- A proven track record of fiscal and/or program fiscal responsibility and sound financial management skills
- Proven ability to have initiative, sound judgment and ability to make decisions independently
- Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
- CPR and First Aid, child abuse prevention training, Y orientation certifications required within 60 days of hir
Responsibilities:
- Ensures membership, health & wellness, youth & family programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboard and develops them for success.
- Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Directs the programs and membership, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program; securing and scheduling the needed facilities; and creating and scheduling the classes, activities or events.
- Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
- Builds partnerships with the community in order to align the Y as a leading non-profit.
- Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Leads YMCA fund raising activities and special events
- Performs other duties as assigned
