How you make a difference:
This position is responsible for the design and functional management of all benefits programs to ensure the company attracts, motivates, and retains the key talent necessary for future success. The role provides thought leadership on emerging trends and develops cost control and process improvement strategies, maintaining a competitive benefits program. It is crucial for driving strategic initiatives that align with the company’s objectives and workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive benefits strategy aligned with organizational goals, including health and welfare plans, wellness programs, and retirement plans.
  • Oversee budget planning, administration, compliance, and communication of benefits programs, and lead the annual open enrollment process, ensuring system integrations and employee training.
  • Develop cost control strategies while maintaining the long-term value of health benefits, and lead vendor performance reviews, negotiations, and selections.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, monitor vendor performance, and manage new vendor and program implementations, including due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with leadership, HRBP’s, and Talent Acquisition for employee feedback, and partner with the communications team to develop effective communication strategies for benefits offerings.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or related required.
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience

  • 7-9 years of progressive and proven Benefits experience, including 2-4 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in complex, multi-site/state, union, growth-oriented business required.
  • Self-funded plans experience required.
  • Multi-Employer Welfare Arrangements (MEWA’s) preferred.
  • Healthcare/Hospital industry background preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • CBP or CEBS certification preferred

Compliance

  • Working knowledge of ERISA, DOL, IRS rules related to benefits, PPACA, PPA and other benefits legislation, rules, and regulations.

Additional Details : This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in our corporate home office. Ideal candidate resides in greater Nashville, TN, area.
