California Bioenergy LLC (CalBio) is one of the country’s leading developers of dairy digester projects for generating renewable vehicle fuel and electricity. Founded in 2006, CalBio works closely with local dairy farmers, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC), the California Energy Commission (CEC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the dairy industry to develop projects and help the state reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs), protect local air and water quality, while creating local jobs and providing meaningful benefits to the dairy. In partnership with its affiliates, Midwest Bioenergy, Northwest Bioenergy, and Southwest Bioenergy, the company is undertaking the development, construction, ownership, and operation of dozens of dairy digester projects across the country.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Benefits Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the US Benefits program. This hands-on role involves resolving company benefit issues, managing vendors, creating communications, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the growing renewable energy business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification such as CEBS, PHR, or other Human Resources program.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with California benefit administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efficient operation and administration of current benefit programs, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform administrative work involved in benefit functions and maintain related records.
  • Ensure that programs are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Specialize in Human Resources at the professional level, administering and advising employees and management on the interpretation of benefit policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Advise individuals regarding eligibility and coverage for various benefit programs.
  • Administer Leave of Absence programs for multi-state populations.
  • Communicate provisions of benefit packages through various channels.
  • Review and approve benefit vendor invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist the HR Director with the administration of Employee Events and Office functions.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.
