QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, with a strong understanding of Canadian, US, and European compliance and legislation.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, with experience using Workday and Canada Life GroupNet, MetLife US being advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment standards and related government legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the go-to expert on all things related to benefits, providing insights and recommendations on best practices.
  • Manage the administration of group insurance benefits and retirement savings plans, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR team to ensure seamless processing of benefit payments, deductions, and contributions.
  • Handle inquiries from employees and managers regarding benefits matters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on changes to federal and provincial legislation to ensure compliance across regions.
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all benefit-related data and documentation.
  • Assist with other HR duties as needed to support the team and organization.
