HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

We are looking for a data engineer to join our remote team and advance our people analytics function! The Data Engineer will support our BI Cube, data lake and build our Generative AI tools that are used to improve workforce decisions that drive business performance and growth at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in computer or data science, engineering, or a related field; or work experience equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

4+ years of experience with SQL, Python and DevOps practices.
Experience developing in cloud environment; Amazon Web Services preferred.
4+ years of experience working with Microsoft Power BI with strong competency in DAX is a plus.
Experience building generative AI applications using Microsoft or Amazon tools is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Writes moderate to advance DAX including measure optimization.
Experience with version control and project management software (e.g., Git, JIRA).
Self starter who is constantly learning new skills and has an interest in AI.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with users and product owners to resolve use cases and translates business needs to technical requirements.
Maintain and enhance the data lake and cube including adding data feeds, writing transforms, writing DAX measures and the like.
Be a critical part in helping develop our generative AI solutions and strategies.
Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in relevant technology, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
