Description:

BID WRITER / TENDER COORDINATOR

Location - Cross Green, Leeds (LS9)
Salary - to £38,000
Based at our Leeds Head Office with easy access via the M1 / M62 & M621, the position of Bid Writer plays a key role in the success of NEO. The successful candidate reporting directly to the Managing Director, will hold day to day responsibility for the preparation of technical tender proposals required in response to long term service contracts and one-off projects for passive fire protection services across the social housing, education, health care and student accommodation sectors.
Whilst previous experience in Bid Writing would be preferred, we’re opening to considering someone with a background in tender submissions who has commercial acumen, is organised and has great communication skills.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Writing experience in a technical authoring field
  • Technical awareness including an understanding of building service solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to provide leadership and guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Able to work to tight timescales particularly when developing proposals.
  • Substantial experience using MS Office including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Team and action oriented; proactive in prioritising own workload and assigned areas of responsibility to others.
  • Able to influence assertively to get results.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile, edit, and proofread commercial proposals which contain technical content ensuring that these are presented in a professional and concise manner.
  • Review and revise documents prepared by others and coordinate the preparation of those materials in a completed bid document.
  • Determine the scope and timeline of new bids.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of tender bids ensuring other contributors provide information on time to the correct standard.
  • Develop knowledge of the business, and its services by reading and reviewing previous bid submissions and spending time with technical and commercial functions.
  • Develop a library of documentation and reference materials.
  • Review and improve other customer materials and develop a consistent set of standards for other commercial functions to follow.
  • Develop a set of standard templates for less complex bids.
