Responsibilities:

  • Learn how content is acquired, transcoded to various formats supporting different device platforms, and distributed to end users.
  • Learn how content metadata is ingested, enriched, and enhances user experience while consuming content on OTT platforms.
  • Gain familiarity with Digital Rights Management to secure content, Adaptive Bitrate streaming, streaming protocols like HLS, and DASH.
  • Develop an understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), gaining insights into how content is stored, managed, and curated to enhance user engagement.
  • Explore different platforms used for streaming media playback, including AppleTV, Roku, iOS, and Android, to understand their functionalities and user experiences.
  • Get exposed to the working of container orchestrators like Kubernetes, where headend microservices are deployed supporting various features within OTT streaming solutions.
  • Opportunity to work on document-oriented databases like Couchbase, along with RDBMS like MySQL.
  • Opportunity to work on media assets stored in different cloud providers like GCP, Azure & AWS, thus enhancing your knowledge of components within the respective cloud providers.
  • Exposure to tools like Postman used to test various REST APIs, log analysis using Charles Log, Wireshark.
  • Exposure to data analytics & Visualization tools like Conviva, New Relic, Tableau & Looker, providing insights on key performance indices tracked to improve user experience.
  • Gain significant domain knowledge on how content is acquired, ingested, stored & distributed via Content Distribution Networks to end users.
  • Understand how Live channels are streamed, Electronic Programmable Guide is ingested, how Video-On-Demand content is ingested and served together with features like Dynamic Ad Insertions, enabling personalization features like bookmarks, continue watching, setting up entitlements, and user profiles.
