JOB SUMMARY

The Luna Labs’ Finance Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of accounting compliance standards, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for achieving the company’s strategic goals through financial excellence. Primary responsibilities and duties associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years previous accounting operations experience is required. Experience in SBIR contracting is preferred.
  • Recently applied experience with Deltek Costpoint is a firm requirement.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF Functions)
  • Familiarity with accounting support with various government agencies (i.e. DOD, NIH, Aerospace…etc.) is preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Due to government contracting regulations, U.S. citizenship is a firm requirement.

Responsibilities:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and submit invoices for government and commercial customers in compliance with contractual and FAR regulations for all contract types.
  • Review contract documents for information or changes related to invoicing.
  • Maintain and updates billing folders.
  • Manage open billing detail and obtains necessary approves for write-offs.
  • Reconcile unbilled balances to GL.
  • Analyze revenue reports to understand and communicate unbilled balances.
  • Analyze reports for billing and revenue recognition.
  • Works closely with projects teams and financial administration to resolve complex billing issues.
  • Assist with Incurred Cost Submission.
  • Assist with collection process
  • Participates in special projects as required.
