Description:

We would be interested in speaking to candidates at Intern or Research level for a 12 months FTC.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • At least three years’ experience with programming software (R or Python) to engage with our data analysts and client / partner specialists.
  • Experience with large datasets – cleaning, preparation, analysis, and visualisation.
  • Work within a team to support development of new approaches, show proactivity to implement new methods.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent scientific experience in a field related to business and biodiversity (such as biodiversity metrics, conservation planning, biodiversity in life-cycle assessment, spatial ecology, natural resource management, quantitative social sciences) or computer sciences.
  • Demonstrated ability to distil complex scientific concepts into appropriate language for a non-specialist audience, and of communicating this verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communications skills, with confidence and flexibility across a broad range of audiences from C-suite executives to academics and government or NGO representatives.
  • A passion for biodiversity and a belief that business has a positive role to play in a safe and just ecological transition.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis using methodologies developed by the Technical Design and Development team, providing support in interpreting and visualising results, and presenting them to clients.
  • Analyse and interpret data provided by clients to identify the best approaches to take to meet the requirements of the task.
  • Supporting the Technical Design and Development team to develop our data workflows and development of new methodologies.
  • Ensuring that our client work is firmly evidence-based, through scientific input, technical review and diffusion of evidence-based methods across the team.
