Responsibilities:
Reporting to Associate Professor Rachael Bashford-Rogers as well as collaborators Dr Alex Clarke (Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, KIR) and Prof Edward Vital (Leeds), the successful candidate will join the Immune-repertoire research group in the Department of Biochemistry. The post holder will be the lead in providing bioinformatics expertise to a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and scientists in studying the immunobiology underlying the development of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and related autoantibody-mediated diseases.
This exciting project involves the analysis and integration of single-cell multi-omics including scRNA-seq, CITE-SEQ, T and B cell repertoire, as well as CyTOF analysis of immunometabolic state on at-risk pre-SLE, SLE and healthy control samples to understand immune dynamics.
The post holder will benefit from opportunities to strengthen the groups collaborations with a variety of biologists and scientists in Oxford and internationally as well as collaborative environment in Biochemistry.
This full-time fixed-term post is funded by Versus Arthritis for up to 2 years in the first instance.
We would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at grade 7 (£36,024 - £44,263 per annum), with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.
The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available (this is unlikely to be more than £45,585 per annum).
