Job Requirements
Antech Diagnostics are looking for a Bioveterinary Scientist to join the laboratory team in Six Mile Bottom, Cambridgeshire. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have an interest in Veterinary diagnostics and want to join a fast growing, global business focused on providing A Better World For Pets.
Hours: Monday – Saturday rota, 8 hour shifts between 6am – 6pm
Salary Range: £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a Science related field.
- A minimum of 1 year relevant laboratory experience, ideally within a veterinary or clinical setting.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised and can multi-task in a fast-paced, high throughput environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Offic
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and run samples within haematology, clinical biochemistry, endocrinology, and urinalysis.
- Check and release results.
- Working with the following analysers: Siemens Advia 2120i, Immulite 2000 and Novus, Beckman Coulter AU480/DXC700 and Horiba G800/G400.
- Handling and preparing biological samples for testing including preparation of blood films, urines, fluids, cytology slides (including cytospin preparations), staining of slides and scanning of cytology.
- Follow applicable SOPs and comply with laboratory H&S and QA guidelines.
