WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing our client’s PostgreSQL database systems. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of databases by conducting regular monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and maintenance activities. Your role will also involve developing data management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security. You will collaborate with various teams to define data requirements and influence project design. Additionally, you will also provide technical support for database environments, including testing and installation of DBMS upgrades. Your expertise will be vital in planning and executing disaster recovery procedures.

• Manage and maintain all PostgreSQL database instances across development, staging, and production environments
• Ensure database performance by conducting regular monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and maintaining of the database
• Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and influence project design
• Provide technical support for database environments, including testing and installation of DBMS upgrades
• Plan and execute disaster recovery procedures

The ideal candidate for the PostgreSQL Database Administrator position brings a wealth of experience in database administration or a similar role. You have a strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining, as well as an excellent understanding of data administration and management functions. Familiarity with modern database technologies is essential for this role..

• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator or similar role
• More than four years’ experience working on PostgreSQL
• Previous experience in a banking environment will be highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining
• Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions
• Strong proficiency in SQL and a deep understanding of database performance optimisation techniques
• Familiarity with modern database technologies
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of informatio
