JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position will offer exposure across our 1) private capital strategies, which include distressed, special situations and performing, 2) sustainable resource investing, which includes renewable energy, infrastructure and investment grade debt, and 3) asset backed financing.The majority of the businesses we invest in see us deliver value as a private equity like sponsor and hence the role will include private equity style due diligence and analysis.
Associates are generalists and participate in all aspects of projects and can expect to work on a number of assignments at one time. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, deal teams are typically small. Associates are therefore expected to assume important and integral roles in the screening, analyzing and structuring of investment opportunities and regularly attend client and internal meetings, negotiations, and due diligence sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Strong academic track record
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong English communication skill
  • Prior buy side, investment banking, consulting or leveraged finance experience of 2-3 years is a prerequisite.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Typically, work will include private-equity style due diligence and financial analysis, modelling, research, competitive analysis and benchmarking, development of presentations, assistance in the execution of transactions, and drafting of investment memoranda. As well as being involved in specific investment processes, candidates will help lead individual research projects, focused on either specific industries or companies.
