Meet the Team

Silicon Labs is looking for Bluetooth Software Product Manager for its Wireless Product Management team. This team is responsible for strategy and differentiation for a growing roadmap for various wireless protocol products on Silicon Labs roadmap to meet the wide range of IoT applications requirements. You will join a team of highly experienced Product Managers, who are focused on accelerating adoption of these wireless products as a key technology for IoT.

  • We collaborate with key stakeholders in business units, R&D, Operations, Marketing, field engineering team to drive wireless design wins and accelerate time to revenue.
  • We create/prioritize software feature roadmaps based on various segments inputs to meet diverse set of applications.
  • We support major product launches collaborating closely with Product Marketing, Applications Engineering, Field engineering, Sales, and others.
  • We discover, investigate, qualify, and define unique customer value propositions and drive to unique easy-to-use value-add product feature requirements for each of our wireless technologies.
  • We shepherd those features through execution and then assist marketing and sales to articulate and tailor their value internally and externally.

Responsibilities

As a Bluetooth Software Product Manager, you will play an important role in shaping the evolution of the Bluetooth Low Energy and Bluetooth Classic software and ensuring market competitiveness. Your responsibilities will include combination of hands-on and strategic activities, including:

  • Create, scope & prioritize value-add, differentiated, unique, and user-friendly Bluetooth features and their requirements for future/existing IoT SoC Radios.
  • Create, scope & prioritize Bluetooth software roadmaps tailored for IoT use-cases and manage trade-offs against engineering and schedule limitations.
  • Identify emerging trends and customer needs to make roadmap decisions and drive product differentiation.
  • Perform periodic competitive analysis of our Bluetooth features and create market positioning analysis to best position us in the market to maximize profit.
  • Travel periodically domestically and internationally to our global sites, key customers and Bluetooth SIG members meetings and events.
  • Collaborate and work with external alliances such as the Bluetooth SIG, to gather industry insights and synthesize input for future product roadmaps.
  • Review and analyze customer inputs, champion feasibility analysis with stakeholders and prioritize by revenue and strategic importance for various Bluetooth requirements.
  • Provide strategic input and influence silicon roadmap requirements necessary for future Bluetooth software features such as BLE Audio and PBR/RTT Measurement.
  • Work with SW/HW Architects, System Engineers, and R&D to ideate and optimize roadmap ideas and requirements for new technology programs and products.
  • Partner with Project Managements and key R&D stakeholders to plan deliverables required to meet roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units and applications engineering teams to support new feature deployments, alpha/beta programs, and assist in customer engagement when needed.

Skills You Will Need Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline such as ECE, EE, CS, or related field. An MBA is a Plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in Bluetooth Low Energy product management
  • Must possess both business/marketing and technical acumen and the desire and ability to thrive in both worlds simultaneously.
  • The ability to see/sense future trends via curiosity, self-learning, developing relationships with customers/partners, mining the intellect at trades shows and alliances, developing and fostering a wide business network, etc.
  • The personal skills to comfortably interface directly with customers and senior leadership teams as well as participate in webinars, public face to face panels, conference sessions, and various media events.
  • The ability to up-level technical feature details to their core value propositions and then articulate those in customer facing collateral.
  • The ability and willingness to learn as much technical knowledge as required to direct and advise R&D on technical options and trade-offs.
  • Superb influence management and DEI skills to work effectively work with cross-functional, diverse, and geographically disparate team to drive results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The following qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • 3-5 years industry experience in IoT or related market segments and an understanding of wireless IoT Industry standards, regulations, market dynamics and competitive trends.
  • Experience in emerging areas of Bluetooth such as BLE Mesh, Security, and/or usage of ML algorithm in Bluetooth.
  • Bluetooth Classic product management in addition to BLE
  • Deep understanding of at least one IoT market segment such as: Electronic Shelf Labels, Access Control, Portable Medical, and Locationing.
  • Experience in different embedded compute SoC architectures and RTOS environment.
  • Prior experience in software development or systems engineering on Bluetooth Connectivity products.
  • Experience in enabling customers and users for a friction-free developer experience.
  • Experience in building relationships with third-party software and hardware external partners.
  • Experience developing product and SW differentiation and market positioning strategies.
