Description:
Are you a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst interested in supporting children and their families? Are you interested in working in a team environment with other professionals such as psychologists, pediatricians, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, dieticians, physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, and others?
FIREFLY is a multi-service, non-profit organization located in Northwestern Ontario that has recently been designated a Children’s Treatment Centre. In November 2022, FIREFLY achieved “Exemplary Standing” with Accreditation Canada. We are dedicated to supporting and strengthening the health and well-being of families, children, and youth through emotional, physical, developmental, and community services. Clients can access FIREFLY service in a variety of locations: centre based, in community (fly-in and drive-in communities), in schools, pre-school and child care settings. FIREFLY is seeking a full-time Board Certified Behavioural Analyst to work in any FIREFLY location. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will provide behaviour analytical services and clinical oversight of ABA Therapists. You will also be responsible for the development, monitoring, and evaluation of behaviour programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Masters Degree in Behaviour Analysis or Psychology is required
- Certification with the Behaviour Analysts Certification Board is preferred, certification in progress will be considered
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience training and/or supervising others to provide behaviour analytics is required
- Demonstrated competency in delivery and oversight of behaviour assessment and treatment for children and youth with ASD
- Advanced knowledge of autism, developmental disabilities, and clinical assessment tools are required
- Ability to write clinical reports summarizing client strengths, needs, and recommendations
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data
- Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages is an asset
- Engagement in the leadership work of the agency is required
- Exceptional communication and engagement skills and experience with children and youth with developmental concerns and/or ASD and their families
- Superior interpersonal skills coupled with experience working as a member of a diverse and collaborative team
- Requires the ability to travel between service delivery sites in both urban and rural settings
- Ability to work creatively with clients both individually and in group settings
- Sensitivity to the needs of parents/caregivers and the ability to support and involve them in programming
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
