THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join the maintenance crew at Pembroke Resource’s new autonomous mine in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.
Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-East of Moranbah which commenced mining operations mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Boilermaker, you will be required to maintain plant safely and efficiently in order to meet site maintenance schedules.

In this role, you will:

• Perform bucket and tray rebuild and repairs
• General design and fabrication works
• Conduct required inspection to maximise equipment utilisation
• Complete accurate Job Planning Sheets
• Set and maintaining high housekeeping standards
• Work within a team environment to meet deadlines

As a successful applicant, you’ll be a high-achieving safety-focused individual who enjoys delivering results in a dynamic environment. Your attention to detail coupled with your commitment to delivering high quality work will also ensure your success in this role. The ideal candidate will hold:

• Proficient in performing all welding, gouging, cutting or other duties
• Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent
• Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earthmoving industry, or hydraulic excavator industry
• Mobile plant equipment & heavy welding experience (essential)
• Current Drivers Licence (HR drivers licence highly regarded)
• Current Standard 1
