Description:

Job Title: Bookkeeper
We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments for busy rebar division.
Bookkeeper job duties include working closely with our Accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate should hold a Finance degree and is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Posting & adjusting Accounts Payable Invoices & issuing payments to vendors
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain & clarify/resolve invoicing issues
  • Preparation of bank deposits & daily cash report
  • Preparing & processing journal entries to ensure proper recording of all business transactions
  • Updating Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable including the posting of daily transactions
  • Keep track of all the business’ financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Keep the accounting filing system in order
  • Oversee the business’ inventory and cash flow
  • Balance the financial books by reconciling them with bank statements
  • Communicate financial issues to the management
  • Generate financial reports with analysis of the financial statements
  • Provide the information accountants and auditors need for their reports and audit
  • Follow the standard accounting procedures and policies
  • Ensure compliance with the local, state, and federal government’s reporting requirements
  • Assisting with implementation & maintaining internal financial controls & procedures

    Requirements & Skills:

  • 2-3 years proven bookkeeping experience or in similar role in a Metal retail industry

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Detail-oriented, high degree of accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as a team, with a passion for making continuous improvements
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience with QuickBooks
