Description:

This post is for a full time, permanent Administrator to support the Bowel Cancer Screening Service at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
The position is for 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some evening work may be required as part of these hours on a rota basis.
To provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective support service to the Bowel Cancer Screening Team. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a level of initiative in organising their own workload as well as taking decisions and actions. There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. To support the general administration of the bowel cancer screening programme, liaising with other departments and external bodies as required.
The North Derbyshire Bowel Cancer Screening Service here at Chesterfield Royal Hospital is proud to report that we have been commended for our performance against the National Standards by NHSE. The team are passionate about providing a gold standard service to all our patients, working collaboratively towards continuous service improvement within a friendly and supportive environment. The team successfully managed the introduction of the Age Extension Programme in 2021, which will offer bowel cancer screening to people from the age of 50 once established. Through a gradual expansion process, the team are on track to expand to the next age cohort as well as welcome Lynch Syndrome patients into the programme which will see an increase in activity. Committed to working to reduce health inequalities, the team is working hard to capture data and use audit information- it’s a very exciting time to join the team.
