Description:

As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and significant collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Fitzwilliam welcomes around 400,000 visitors a year, and the Visitor Experience team, where this role will sit, is the largest in the organisation, comprising around 60 staff in total. In this role you will oversee daily operations to ensure the efficient running of all box office and ticketing functions at the Fitzwilliam Museum.
You will maintain consistently high levels of customer service, maximising the capabilities of the CRM software to enhance our visitors’ experience, achieve varied commercial objectives and provide a vital resource and support for all relevant colleagues and departments across the Museum.
You’ll work closely with other Visitor Experience Coordinators to manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the Visitor Experience team, including daily rostering, annual leave, sickness and performance management, and events support. We are seeking someone who has excellent management and leadership experience, gained in a public-facing box office setting. The role holder will have thorough knowledge and extensive experience of database and CRM systems, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and outstanding IT literacy.
In return we offer an encouraging and supportive environment, an attractive pension scheme, generous holiday allowance and many employee benefits such as a shopping discounts scheme.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.
