Job Title: Breakfast Supervisor
Property: Oriel House Hotel
Responsible To: Breakfast Manager, Food & Beverage Manager and Deputy General Manager

To have total product knowledge of all the property’s services and facilities, and total awareness of the product offering of the Talbot Collection as a whole;

  • To carefully read and adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook;
  • To be present and punctual for all in-house/external training programs as requested;
  • To adhere to all fire, safety and hygiene regulations and to comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005;
  • To take a proactive involvement in Health and Safety, ensuring to report and where possible take action on incidents, accidents or damage in the Hotel. Proactively bring any suggestions or ideas to management’s attention;
  • To be proactive in maintaining energy efficiency in the property particularly in terms of electricity, water and waste. Proactively bring any suggestions or ideas to managements attention;
  • To comply with all policies, procedures and memo’s of the Collection;
  • Any other sundry task not mentioned but within scope of the job

Responsibilities:

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for assisting with breakfast and restaurant operations, ensuring that customers receive the best service possible, maintaining a constant level of staff productivity, and maintaining health and safety standards within the hotel’s restaurant.

ROLE SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • To arrive for work on time and in proper uniform
  • To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming
  • To clock in/out adhering to the Company Clocking Policy
  • Ensure the smooth running of the morning restaurant operations in the absence of the Breakfast Manager or Food & Beverage Manager

    To always ensure the delivery of an exceptional friendly service, to every guest, in line with the Talbot Collection ‘Empower Your Excellence’ customer service program

  • Ensure all restaurant staff adhere to the company’s SOPs and service standards

  • Ensure checklists are completed by restaurant staff
  • Ensure all stock is rotated and stored in a safe manner
  • Ensure the restaurant is prepared for set up in advance of each shift and in accordance with relevant SOPs
  • Ensure that all staff arrive to work on time and in correct uniform and name badge as per schedule and adhere to the company Clocking Policy
  • Alongside the Breakfast Manager and Food & Beverage Manager develop, train and coach restaurant staff to the standards required by the Hotel

Breakfast and Restaurant Operations
Ensure the restaurant is always ready for business.
Allocate and support staff throughout the shift to maintain speed of service and cleanliness of the restaurant
Keep staff busy and productive at all times.
Ensure restaurant staff are allocated their statutory breaks and that they are clocking in/out correctly
Ensure restaurant staff are adhering to the company standards and SOPs, addressing, and correcting bad practice when needed
Liaise on shift with Breakfast Chef and Head Chef to resolve problems and ensure great service.
Pre-empt and actively responding to problems that arise and keeping management up to date
Ensure the restaurant opening/closing procedures are followed, end of day jobs completed to a high standard, all back and front of house areas checked and secured, and the restaurant is in excellent order for the next day’s service
Clean and maintain all equipment and notify management of any issues
Assist in cash handling procedures as required
Feedback on your shift to the managers and supervisor taking over
Attend all staff meetings
Clean glasses, utensils, and restaurant equipment
Take breakfast and beverage orders from serving staff or directly from customers
Serve breakfast and beverages
Clean restaurants, work areas, and tables
Stock & Financial Control
Ensure all staff are imputing all orders through the till correctly and no open checks are left at the end of the shift
Detailed check of deliveries for accuracy and quality of product
Ensuring stock is received and secured in stock room on delivery
Ensure stock rotation is applied when storing deliveries and that the correct storage method is applied to each product
Monitored stock levels throughout the shift and replenish as required
Record any wastage
