Description:

The post is a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist post for 12 months on a fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Breast Unit Nursing team in Chelsea. We are looking for an experienced nurse to join an established team with nursing expertise in Breast Cancer.
The post holder will be an experienced Oncology Nurse ideally with either Breast Oncology or Clinical Nurse Specialist experience that is enthusiastic and self-motivated to contribute to the nursing care for our patients from diagnosis through treatment.
You should also have a flexible approach to your duties and the ability to work both as part of the team as well as independently. In addition, you will have excellent communication and nursing skills and be supportive and open to new initiatives as directed by the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist.

To provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of the patient with upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers, acting as a resource to provide information and support to patients, carers and staff. Working with NHS patients
To take responsibility for own evidence based practice and implement and add to the body of knowledge that supports nursing practice within Breast cancer care
To liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team so as to achieve a synchronised specialist service.
To provide informal and formal teaching, e.g. academic courses provided by the School of Nursing
