Description:
Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SCBA Technician to join our Team in Sudbury, ON.
In this role you will provide customers with the highest quality service, repair, and maintenance for SCBAs, breathing air compressors, fall protection equipment and other life safety equipment as required.
This position will be based in-house in our Sudbury branch and will also involve remote/mobile service work at customer locations throughout Northern Ontario.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required, combined with experience or training in use of compressors and/or performing inspection repairs and cleaning of SCBAs and fall harnesses
- Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
- A valid drivers’ license and clean drivers abstract
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to work with technology and mobile devices
- Must be able to work with limited supervision
Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt and efficient services as a technician to all existing customers.
- Inspect, maintain, and service self-contained breathing apparatus, breathing air compressors, fall protection equipment, and other life and safety equipment.
- Perform respirator fit testing as required.
- Collaborate with customers to increase our scope of work for all applicable service capabilities and develop efficient and mutually beneficial work plans/schedules.
- Maintain a specialized service vehicle with appropriate documentation including dangerous goods paperwork, commercial vehicle log book etc.
- Work closely with service coordinators to schedule service work and maintain inventory levels.
- Maintain service vehicle, inventory and tooling.
- Complete all applicable health and safety paperwork associated with company policies and ISO procedures. Participate actively in the company’s health and safety programs.
- Accurate and timely completion of paperwork, including inspection, safety, expense reports etc.
- Perform after-hours call-outs as required.
