Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Brisbane Corporate practice is seeking a Law Graduate or Lawyer with 0 – 2 years PQE to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.
We also welcome applications from law students in their final year of study to join as a Law Clerk and we would be open to the right candidate working on a part-time basis of 2 – 3 days per week.
The successful candidate will report to and be mentored by Josh Steele, Partner. Josh is a corporate and commercial lawyer, working with medium size growth companies, focussing on the Energy & Resources and Technology sectors. Josh has been consistently recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific across a number of categories in the areas of energy and natural resources.
You can expect to be doing tasks such as reviewing and amending shareholders’ agreements, asset and share purchase agreement, attending to completion deliverables for business / asset/ company sales and capital raisings and undertaking research and providing advice on the Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules and shareholder rights and director duties.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL IDEALLY HAVE:

  • Demonstrated academic excellence throughout your tertiary studies.
  • Thorough research skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft basic correspondence.
  • An ability to demonstrate initiative and take a proactive approach to solving problems and building relationships.
  • An ability to digest instructions quickly and quality produce results.
  • An interest in commercial and corporate law.
